Texas Rangers Weekend

Oklahoma City, OK - Arlington, TX
July 27-29, 2012
Total Mileage: 668

You gotta love spur of the moment trips that start with a random text from a friend. Before we knew it, Keegan, myself and Ramsey were headed to OKC.  My dad  had a minor outpatient surgery earlier that day, so it helped that we could go and take dinner to my parents. We had a filling Johnnie's Charcoal burger and met up with some friends at Dan O'Brien's. Our fun-filled night let us to Taco Cabana before heading to bed.

Saturday morning started early with a quick chapter meeting and then on the road to Dallas before 9 a.m.  After a minor debacle at McDonald's concerning coffee (my favorite drink) we were prepared for the day.  First stop in Allen was lunch, so we headed to Gloria's for some authentic, latin-american food.  Siestas ensued quickly after lunch with the Olympics on the background, making for a perfect Saturday afternoon.  We woke up with time to change and head to Arlington for the Rangers versus White Sox game.  Unfortunately, we were sitting under the large Jumbotran which hindered us from seeing any replays or introductions.  But on the positive side we were in the all-you-can eat section, perfect for Keegan.

The Rangers were not able to beat the White Sox that night and even worse, we didn't get to see Josh Hamilton play.  Knowing the Rangers were out of the game, we left a little early and headed north to Addison.  Some other friends were enjoying the dueling paino bar so that was our next stop.  Pete's Dueling Piano's was quite the establishment!  We had a great time singing oldies and people watching.

We had a solid night's sleep and were ready to hit the road before lunchtime, but not too early.  In N' Out Burger was a priority before leaving Allen, considering that is the closest one to Stillwater.  Our animal fries and burgers were delicious, as usual, and we were on the road.  As we made it into OKC, we met with Keegan's family to shop for suits, which was a painless and successful meeting.  Following the shopping, we got to experience Smashburger for the first time and had a wonderful evening in the city before heading back home.

Magnificent: Spontaneous trip to Oklahoma City on Friday
Manure: Sitting under the Jumbotran at the baseball game
